Dan Carter – PGA Head Professional

Dan took over as PGA Head Professional at Weymouth Golf Club in November 2019, bringing with him over 14 years of experience across all aspects of golf club operations.

Turning professional at the age of 18, Dan graduated as a fully qualified PGA Professional and Level 3 Coach in 2009. Since then, he has worked hard to build an outstanding reputation as both a player and coach. Among his career highlights are winning the Titleist & FootJoy Order of Merit in 2013 and securing multiple PGA Regional Pro-Am victories.

Dan remains passionate about the game and takes great pride in delivering a first-class retail experience alongside comprehensive individual and group coaching programmes for both members and visitors. He now uses CoachNow, the No.1 coaching platform, to provide his clients with detailed lesson feedback, videos, and swing analysis — ensuring every player can track their progress and continue improving between sessions.

With a hands-on approach, Dan ensures his professional team delivers outstanding service and expert guidance to all who visit Weymouth Golf Club, while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and excellence throughout the club.

Jacob Tidswell – Assistant Professional

Jacob has been part of the Weymouth Golf Club team for over two years. After an outstanding amateur career, he turned Professional in 2023. Since beginning his PGA qualification, Jacob has discovered a real passion for coaching, combining a friendly and professional approach to help players of all levels improve their game.

Having gained over two years of coaching experience, Jacob has become an accomplished coach whose clear and simple approach makes him successful with golfers of all abilities. He now uses CoachNow, the No.1 coaching platform, to provide his clients with detailed lesson feedback, videos, and swing analysis — ensuring every player can track their progress and continue improving between sessions.

Alongside coaching, Jacob continues to dedicate time to his own game, regularly practising and competing in local and national PGA tournaments.

George Long – Assistant Professional

George joined the Professional Team at Weymouth Golf Club in October 2025, bringing a wealth of playing experience and a strong passion for coaching. After representing Dorset County at every age group, George turned Professional in 2017 and went on to enjoy success with multiple top-20 finishes on various tours, including earning EuroPro Tour status in 2021.

Having completed year two of his PGA qualification and achieved his Level 1 coaching certification, George has already established himself as a knowledgeable and approachable coach. His calm, encouraging manner and wealth of playing experience enable him to deliver first-class on-course lessons, helping players gain confidence and perform their best where it matters most. He now uses CoachNow, the No.1 coaching platform, to provide clients with detailed lesson feedback, videos, and swing analysis – ensuring every player can track their progress and continue improving between sessions.

Alongside his coaching commitments, George continues to compete in local and national PGA tournaments, including a top-30 finish in the 2024 PGA Assistants Championship.
